Would you like to play a part in local decision making, consulting the community and supporting and improving local services? Milborne Port Parish Council is hoping to fill its current councillor vacancies. Councillors are local volunteers who give some of their time to help shape the future of the Parish. Meetings are on a Tuesday night. The deadline for applications is Tuesday 24th June 2025. Please contact the Parish Clerk for more information: Tel: 01963 251268 (Tue & Wed & Thurs only). Many thanks to Cllr. Margaret Capon who has recently prompted the purchase of five emergency bleed kits which have been installed alongside each of the village’s five defibrillators at the Town Hall, the Village Hall, Milborne Port Surgery, Church House and the Cemetery Chapel. They have all been registered with an organisation called Heartsafe. The kits are available freely for members of the public to deploy at the scene of a medical incident where a patient has suffered a catastrophic bleed. Remember, in an emergency, always report the event immediately to the Ambulance Service by calling 999.
We hope that visitors to the cemetery will have noticed that there has been much activity there over the last few weeks and months: we have hired a skip and removed many unwanted items (please do report fly-tipping when you see it!); re-laid some of the pathways; organised weekly grass cutting and trimming; and given the Chapel Museum building an exterior freshen-up
Many thanks to cockapoo puppy George and owner Karen Gough for brightening up the Crackmore bus-stop with funding from the Parish Council. George chose the plants, and Karen might have helped out… a bit…
